Fracking:  Photography & Speaker Event

Reverend Leah D. Schade, founder of the Interfaith Sacred Earth Coalition and Pastor of United in Christ Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, PA will speak. Her talk, "Shale Justice and Sacred Waters," addresses the impacts of fracking in north-central Pennsylvania, where she lives and preaches. Reverend Leah asks the question, "Where Would Jesus Frack?" -- Don't miss this riveting speaker, who has been involved in organizing within the Lutheran Church and in supporting families directly impacted by fracking.

100 Days of Climate Action Campaign Continues Through April 22

Phonebanking, letter writing, canvassing, 1-on-1 meetings, events and other activities are being organized as part of the 100 Days of Climate Action Campaign. We are also working with our climate campaign partners to plan a climate public event in March and an Earth Day event in April. Thanks to Bryan Crenshaw, we have a great blog pacleanair.blogspot.com and a very informative Twitter account @pacleanair.  If anyone wants to have a 1-on-1 discussion with me on how to get involved please call me at 732-589-8024.  To be added to the google group list, send your name and email address to william.kramer@sierraclub.org.  You will be kept up to date on all campaign activities.

 Chester County Members Meetings are held the lst Thursday of the month.  To confirm meeting date and location, contact Mary or Leslie.

SPG Executive Committee Meetings

Executive Committee meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month from 6 - 8  pm at the Clean Air Council offices, 135 S. 19th St. Suite 300, Philadelphia.  All members are invited to attend.   Next scheduled meeting is Wed. April 3, 2013.  All members are invited to attend.  We especially encourage those interested in volunteering to attend and meet the SPG leaders.   Confirm date and location in advance by contacting Chair Mat Himmelein at mathew.himmelein@gmail.com in the event of a change.   
 

Good Jobs, Green Jobs 2013  -  April 16 - 18, Washington DC.

Outeach has begun for this year's Good jobs, Green Jobs Conference.  This year's theme is Let's Get to Work: Climate Change, Infrastructure and Innovation. We know that climate change is no longer a possibility, it's a reality. Hurricane Sandy and the drought of 2012 showed America what climate change could do to our communities, economy and environment.

Wear long pants, otherwise dress for the weather.
Bring Water, work gloves if you have them, insect repellent with 20-30% DEET, also bring friends & family.

Bill Brainerd, outings coordinator, organizes hikes in the SPG area. Send your e-mail address to wbrainerd3@gmail.com, and he will notify you of upcoming hikes.   Hikes are generally suspended for the winter months but get on the list now for the Spring!
