Sustainable Transportation:
The Future of Amtrak and High Speed Rail
When: Monday, April 15, 6:45 pm
Where: Community College of Philadelphia
Center for Business and Industry
NE Corner of 18th & Callowhill Streets
2nd Floor Room C2-5
Speaker: Craig Caldwell of Amtrak
Trains are more efficient and emit less greenhouse gas per ton than other modes of transport and are therefore an important component of sustainable transportation. The Northeast Corridor is Amtrak's most profitable route. Mr. Caldwell will discuss the future of Amtrak and the new high speed rail system even faster than Acela that is being planned for some segments of the rail system.
